Planning My Soup Giveaway

Bead Soup Blog Party WidgetI’m really excited to be participating in Lori Anderson’s 6th Bead Soup Blog Party.  The idea is to exchange beads with a partner, make cool stuff with what I am mailed and blog about it.  This is a great opportunity to work outside of my comfort zone as I have no idea what my partner will mail me.  I suppose one can look at their work and guess what type of things might arrive.  Each artist has favorite colors, materials, or a certain aesthetic.  But, will my partner send me her favorite types of beads or beads she was stumped on what to do with?  And, do I care? NO!  It’s so fun to get something I haven’t been staring at for ages.  Since there are 400 crafters participating in this extravaganza, the “reveal” for the finished works of art will be split into three days.  My date is August 11, 2012.  So, check back between now and then as I’ll be blogging about what I send, what I get, who my partner is and showing you Pretty (Beads and) Things.  If you’re interested in having your own Bead Swap or seeing the projects from previous bead hops, check out her book:

About windbent

I try to reclaim, reuse and re-love items from our past and make them modern again. I see my jewelry as a fusion of old and new, cross cultural, and spanning time periods. Because I use vintage items within my jewelry, there may be age related signs of love that make them special. Each piece will be unique or made in small batches that are similar, but still different. If I find an item I love and it doesn't want to become jewelry, I give it a new home in another art format.
